Artist profile
Taito Otani is a Japanese musician, audiovisual artist and director born in 1995. He holds a master’s degree in engineering and began releasing sound works as a track maker and artist while still a student. After working at a production company, he joined Toei Zukun Laboratory, where he works on XR and immersive content as a technical artist and creative director. His practice spans experimental music, noise, IDM and pop electronica, as well as installations, visual and spatial direction, and XR theatre. Through the relationships between people and computers, he explores interactive expression and the design of spatial experiences.

An audiovisual work combining music made in Ableton Live with images of Itokawa dust particles from JAXA’s digital library. The images are upscaled with AI and tiled in TouchDesigner, while Max for Live waveform analysis synchronizes image changes with the music.
